About PUJFC

Blue Star Junior FC was formed in 2003 and ran just a single boys' team. Each season since the club has grown and now runs both boys and girls teams at every age group form 6-15. The club is ambitious and is growing rapidly and we now have well over 200 children registered. We pride oursleves on being inclusive and friendly and try not to exclude any child irrespective of their ability. Not every child is gifted enough to play for a team but we are happy to train and encourage the less able so that they can develop at a slower pace.

The club is firmly established at our base at Bullocksteads, the University Sportsground in Kenton Bankfoot. We have a long-term agreement with the University to use Bullocksteads and we believe it is one of the best children's football facilities in the area. The University has exciting plans to develop Bullocksteads and Ponteland United FC is an important partner in this bright future. FA Charter Status In 2003 the Club was awarded the

F.A. Charter Standard Status.
As a Charter Standard Club, we are among a select group of approximately 3% of F.A. affiliated Clubs who have achieved this prestigious standard. The Football Association Charter Status is testimony to the quality of Ponteland United FC's structure, policies and procedures, it recognises the quality throughout the club and guarantees a positive experience for all parents and children.

Coaching
All coaching at Ponteland United FC is carried out by FA-qualified coaches. Many teams operate with two coaches to ensure players get as much individual attention as possible. Nearly all coaches at the club are parents of children at the club. We are constantly looking for new coaches, both male and female, and the club will pay for the FA coaching qualification and will supply all of the equipment. There will also be the opportunity to work alongside an existing coach to gain experience.

Child Protection
Ponteland United FC takes its child protection responsibilities very seriously. The club has a detailed and thorough Child Protection Policy (CPP), which we review regularly to ensure it serves the needs of the club and that the club complies with the policy. The policy is adapted from a one used by the NSPCC. An important part of our CPP is that all adults at the club who come into contact with the children are expected to have successfully completed a recent Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. If necessary the club will organise and pay for a CRB check to be completed by new coaches. Playing Success Playing success can be measured in many ways and at any level is a good yardstick for the the coaching on offer at a club. For younger, less experienced players success can be the scoring of a goal, the achieving of a particular skill, or simply becoming a regular player in the team. However, football is about winning matches and, ultimately, trophies and Ponteland United FC has had its share of success.

Ponteland United FC
In summer 2006 Blue Star Junior FC was formally approached by Ponteland United FC with a view to the club joining with Ponteland United FC with our junior section complementing the existing senior team at Ponteland United FC. At an AGM the club agreed to the merger and Blue Star Junior FC was renamed Ponteland United Junior FC.
