 We Are Macmillan Cancer Support Join the Ponteland Centenary Fundraising Group Douglas Macmillan founded ‘The Society for the Prevention and Relief of Cancer’ in 1911, using a £10 Birthday Gift, to support people who had cancer. Today, like our name, our services have improved and developed and, one hundred years on, we are providing many different services supporting people living with cancer and their families. This year to celebrate our 100th Anniversary we want to raise more money than ever to ensure we continue to provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support to people affected by cancer.
